Video Sequence Recorder

MV-1000 SEQ is an application program designed to work under Windows 3.x or Windows 95 with an MV-1000 frame grabber and optional modules to capture a sequence of frames into system memory and/or disk files.

MV-1000 SEQ provides the following features:

Both standard cameras (RS170 and CCIR) and non-standard cameras (specified by a user-defined camera configuration file) including digital and color cameras are supported. Monochrome images greater than 8 bits can be captured and stored in .raw or .tif format.

Frame size and location are adjustable by the user.

The user can view the adjustment to the video capture parameters through a live video display.

The video recorder interface provides the following options:
The number of frames to be captured in a sequence.
The captured images can be stored into system memory or to disk file.
The capture interval can be defined by one of the four ways provided:
1) use a frame counter to capture a frame in every N frames
2) use a system timer to capture a frame at fixed time interval
3) use external trigger to capture frames at fixed or variable time interval
4) use software trigger to capture a frame each time the user presses the mouse button
Optionally display the captured images when recording is in process
When "capture to disk files" is specified, the user can select one of the four file formats, i.e. BMP, TGA, TIF and RAW data file.

The user can play back a sequence of frames either from the system memory or from the disk files. The sequence can be played back either according to the time intervals when it is recorded, the frame count interval, or user-adjustable fixed time interval. The user can play back the sequence either forward or backward at either maximum speed, recorded speed, or single step.

Sequence File operations, such as New, Open, Save, and Save as, allows users to transfer frames between system memory and disk files. MV-1000 SEQ uses a special file naming convention in which a four-characters string, specified by the user, is used as the prefix of a sequence of file names. When saving a sequence of frames to disk, MV-1000 SEQ creates a file with an extension of ".SEQ", in which all necessary information to play back the sequence are stored. All frames will be saved to a sequence of auto-named files with a extension name showing the file format, such as BMP, TGA, TIF, and RAW. If the sequence is recorded with variable intervals, a time interval file with extension name of "TIM", will be created.
