Summary
The Phoenix 1280 Digital Camera is a line of color and monochrome cameras, using high resolution CMOS Video Sensors and the standard USB 2.0 Interface. The cameras in this line provide high quality video/images for professional applications, low cost cable connections, Plug-n-Play easy installation and hot swappable USB interface. The Phoenix PC-1280/M is a monochrome digital camera with 8 or 10 bit pixel formats supporting both VGA and SXGA resolutions. It’s low cost and low power consumption are ideal in B/W applications. The PC-1280/M and PC-640/M cameras can draw the power from the USB cable, eliminating the need for a separate power cable. The Phoenix PC-1280/C and PC-1280/CLC are color digital cameras with a Bayer RGB video sensor. Because of a built-in FPGA chip, the transferred pixel formats are user selectable as Raw Bayer (8 or 10 bit), YUV (16 bit) or RGB (24 bit). This capability gives the user the best pixel format for the application without the burden of software format conversion. The PC-1280/CLC uses S/W to implement the Color Space Conversion at high speed. All Phoenix Cameras use C Mount lens (C-S lens is supported with an adaptor) with a 1/2?optical format. This makes easy to replace Existing CCD 1/2?cameras are easily replaced without changing the optical and mechanical design. The USB 2.0 Interface is high speed (up to 480 mbps) on transfers and all camera control commands are also delivered on the same cable. For industrial applications, a separate Trigger Input can trigger/reset one or multiple Phoenix Digital Cameras at the exactly time needed for highly accurate images.

Software included with the Phoenix Digital Cameras are the camera device drivers (with configuration co-installer), a DEMO/Diagnostic Program and popular application drivers such as TWAIN and DirectShow. The Phoenix PC-1280 Software Development Kit is available for OEM customers to write their own applications.
